Luckily I was able to get back to competition pretty quickly after the Massachusetts Open last month. I made a late entry into the Vermont Open at the Lake Morey Resort. I had to do some travelling to get on site in time so after a ferry, a cab, a bus, two trains and a car ride from a friend I arrived at the course for the event. Professional golf living up to its glamourous image! 🙄
Thankfully, I continued my good playing and after rounds of 70, 68, 70 I ended in a tie for 5th place. Despite my 3rd top ten finish in a row it was a week where I played good enough to win. In round 2 I had numerous birdie efforts lip out and then finished with back to back 3 putts for 68. That round really could of been 62 but should of been no worse then 66. Thats where the difference was that week.
I’ve just finished up at the Western Massachusetts Open held at Crestview GC. Just a one round tournament but it was great to add it to the schedule after a few weeks off. I shot 69 and finished T2nd, one back.
Looking ahead, I’ve got four state opens in the next three weeks as I look to build on this momentum and take the next step of capturing a win.
Check in soon.
