Just checking in as promised after my swing of tournaments in the North East. It has been an eventful few weeks to say the least. After spending 8 months in Florida I had to reclimatise to some New England weather conditions, it was just like being home!
I started out in Cape Cod at the Massachusetts Open qualifier at Eastward Ho Golf Club. I shot a score of 71 and safely qualified in the top 15 out of 90 or so qualifiers. Super golf course it was and had a real Irish links look to it.
After that event the fun really started. I injured myself hitting a shot out of the rough during a practice round and was forced to withdraw from the Cape Cod Open. Anybody that is aware of my luck with injuries will know how disappointing that was for me. Moving onto the New England Open – hosted at Queeche GC in the picturesque mountains of Vermont. Well….that didnt happen either as the tournament was cancelled on the morning of Day 1 due to heavy rainfall and all 156 competitors were sent packing!
The Massachusetts Open was just completed yesterday and after finally getting to play I had a good week. I shot rounds of 71, 76, 68 and finished T10th. Only 6 shots behind the winner I was left with thoughts of what might of been. Round 2 was a poor score despite windy conditions. Making 13 birdies in 3 rounds on a tough golf course was enough to win the tournament. Making 12 bogeys is not good enough.
However, a good result which builds my confidence and makes me more sure I can pick up a win very soon.
Currently I have no tournaments on the upcoming schedule but hoping I can add some sooner rather then later.
Thanks for your support!
